Original failing shower in a Fort Lauderdale apartment showing mold growth at the base and deteriorated grout before remediation · Completed marble-look porcelain shower rebuild in a Fort Lauderdale apartment with sliding glass door installed
Project story
A Fort Lauderdale multifamily community needed a recurring vendor that could rebuild a failing shower without holding up the unit turn. PrimeOne managed the full project end-to-end — performing the demo, waterproofing, tile, and paint scopes ourselves, with any plumbing rough-in and valve work executed by our licensed plumbing partner under our coordination. Durock and a waterproof pan liner went in on day one, every substrate was sealed with RedGard liquid membrane before tile, large-format porcelain was set around the valve, and a hex mosaic floor was installed with leveling clips. The unit was repainted, hardware swapped and punched out by day six — leasing had it back on the market the following Monday.
Scope of work
- Demo of failing shower down to metal studs and pan
- USG Durock cement board and waterproof pan liner installed
- RedGard liquid waterproofing membrane applied over all substrates
- Large-format marble-look porcelain wall tile + hex mosaic floor tile
- Prime and full repaint of bathroom and adjacent hallway
- Sliding glass shower door install, hardware swap, punch-list completion
